Promoting your Ebay Listings

One thing that people don't do often enough is promote their own ebay listing. I am guilty of it, as are most people. Only the true power sellers on ebay take full advantage of everything to help maximize the sale price of an item.
One thing that I have not done, but wish I did in the past was set up an ebay store and a separate website to go along with it. I reviewed a blog that was about ebay selling, and the author kept a section of all the items he listed and if/when it sold how much it sold for.
This seems like something silly to do, but it helped. The reason it helps is he was able to see what mistakes he made while selling similar items. Thus if he sold a game cube controller and listed it one way but wasn't able to get a good return on it, he would then look back and be able to try to figure out where he went wrong. It is a simple idea, and it works.
